What Customers Say About Face the Fire (Three Sisters Island Trilogy):

It was a good read-but didn't have the impact of the first and second stories. This was the final book of the "sisters" trilogy. Still enjoyed it--just a little flat.

I couldn't get into the story so I skipped a lot of the pages after hitting the half mark. at least, right. This is a witch series: Nell, Ripley, and Mia1st book- "Dance Upon the Air" Nell's story2nd book- "Heaven and Earth" Ripley's story3rd book- "Face the Fire" Mia's story This is the last book of Three Sisters Island TrilogySetting: Modern Times Maybe I am prejudiced since I read the first book and that Nell's story was my favorite-- therefore, I feel that my favorite character is Nell and I could not connect to Mia because in the back of my mind, I felt that the author favored Mia. And maybe even with my prejudices that if the story was really good that I would have rated this higher or have said I liked the story.

I would love to have a girlfriend like Nell, but Ripley annoyed me and (I get that she is supposed to be abbrasive)says things in such a way, I don't believe an actual person would say it, My final thought is this : read the books, and make your own determination. As for me, I'd definitely read them again. Roberts is gifted with delightful prose. Ms. it's an enjoyable read, but I agree that the conclusion was a bit of a let down, and a little too neatly taken care of. I love the series, I want to live in Mia's house. I have to say I enjoyed the magick and the spells and the fact that they weren't wannabees trying to be witches, they actually were witches. The first sex scenes were hot, but seemed a bit too violent and detached and frankly, a bit gratuitous, but hey, what do I know.

I will probably re-read them once I am finished the Garden series. A MUST READ. I bought all 3 books in the series and loved them. I enjoyed this particular series from the very first page and that is not common for me.

Roberts is far too brilliant a writer to depend on wordplay alone; and when it becomes distracting, it is disconcerting as the characters then lose their individuality and become the same people over and over again. However, I will re-read the "Sisters" books again in a year or two; they are, in my own opinion, the highest and best product of Ms. Robert's considerable skill. Now I am seeing it every four pages and I find it really distracting. The first time I came across the word "fisted" (as in "he fisted her hair in his hand) it was interesting. I have continued to read Nora Roberts and have found some of her books equally beautiful in terms of reflective prose, enchanting plot lines and always the possibilities; the suspension of disbelief often leaves the reader feeling like she, too, could own a bookstore, run a nursery or many of the myriad dreams we all have not (yet). All three of the books in the "Sisters" trilogy are strong, beautifully written and captivating; often I didn't sleep until finishing one or the other of them. realized. That said, I am currently reading one of the trilogies and about to put it down.
